Activity Description

Lacing is an important skill for children to learn. Lacing involves dexterity and eye-hand coordination. This can be a challenging task for children. We will learn how to sequence the steps of lacing.

Steps

• Step 1: Print out the PDF on card stock paper or laminate for durability.

• Step 2: Use scissors to cut out the lacing card in advance.

• Step 3: Use a single hole punch to punch out the colored dots

• Step 4: Begin lacing from the top and go under, and continuing with that sequence.

Goals

Lacing is an important skill for children to learn. It involves hand dexterity, eye-hand coordination, and a neat pincer grasp. Lacing is a precursor skill for tying shoe laces, scissor cutting, and more.
