Activity Description
Let's build a sand castle! In this activity, children will squeeze wet glue on the outline of the sand castle. Then, they will sprinkle on the sand, shake off the rest, and allow time to dry. There you have it! An indoor sand castle!
Steps
Step 1: Printout PDF and gather all tools. Place the PDF in the tray.
Step 2: Use your hands to squeeze the wet glue and follow along the outline of the sand castle.
Step 3: Sprinkle some sand on top of the glue. Shake off any excess sand into the tray.
Step 4: Place the Sand Castle Sand Art in a safe place to dry.
Goals
When squeezing a wet glue bottle, children are strengthening their hands and developing the arches of the hand. Squeezing the glue on top of the outline of a sand castle requires eye-hand coordination and graded control. This is a precursor for cutting with scissors.
