2. Sea Creature Mini Erasers (alternative: pony beads or pom poms)
   Spray Bottle

3. Tray to collect water

Activity Description

Children will use a spray bottle with warm water to melt the ice and “free” the sea creatures.

Steps

• Step 1: Place small erasers in an ice tray with water and place into the freezer the night before.

• Step 2: The next day, take out the ice cubes and place on a tray

• Step 3: Fill a spray bottle with warm water

• Step 4: Let your little ones go to work with their spray bottle. Have your child spray away the ice cubes until they are able to “free” a sea creature.

Goals

When squeezing the spray bottle, children are strengthening the muscles of the hand. It is important for children to have adequate muscle strength to complete everyday activities such as holding a pencil, dressing, play, and using school supplies.
