Activity Description
Children love to use scooter boards! Your little one will scoot from one area to the next to try and catch all the magnetic letters with the magnetic wand. Then, they will practice naming the letters and its sound.
Steps
Step 1: Place on one end the magnetic letters and on the other end, the scooter board.
Step 2: While seated on the scooter board, propel the scooter board forward by using your legs.
Step 3: Catch a letter by using the magnetic wand and bring it back to the starting position. Name the letter and its sound!
Step 4: Continue until all letters have been caught!
Goals
Scooter boards are an engaging way to get your little ones moving and learning! When children are propelling themselves forward using their legs, they are engaging their core muscles and improving motor planning skills.
Tips for Parents
Parents, if sitting on the scooter board is uncomfortable for your little one, try placing a soft cushion or towel on top. Remind them to sit in the middle of the scooter to keep from falling off.
