Activity Description
This is one of my favorite songs by Learning Without Tears when teaching letter formation. Children love the catchy tune and I love to see how children develop awareness to the lines when writing their letters. Let's learn the song together and sing along!
Steps
Step 1: Print out PDF and have your child hold the pencil
Step 2: Play the video to learn the song and follow along when you think you have it down!
Goals
This song helps to teach letter formation. Letter formation begins from a top-to-bottom, left-to-right approach for right-handed writers. Children that are left handed also begin letter formation from the top-to-bottom approach however, can begin from a right-to-left approach because of the way their hand is positioned when writing. Always, always, always, start your letters at the top! That, never changes!
