Activity Description

Children will practice tossing and catching a ball with a partner. Then, will choose a color on the beach ball and say the letter and its sound that is written on that color.

Steps

• Step 1: In advance, write letters on each color of the beach ball. For older children, have them practice writing the letters.

• Step 2: Toss the beach ball to a partner. The partner will choose a color and then, pick a letter and say its name and sound. The partner will toss the beach ball back and the game will continue!

Goals

Tossing and catching a ball requires eye-hand coordination, graded control, bilateral coordination, and visual attention.
