  2. Printed PDF (Click Here)

  3. Wikki Stix

Activity Description

Children will practice their coloring skills by coloring inside the lines of their shapes. We will place Wikki Stix on top of the lines of the shape to provide a tactile (touch) barrier.

Steps

  • Step 1: Print out PDF and gather all tools

  • Step 2: Begin by placing Wikki Stix on top of the lines of a shape.

  • Step 3: Color inside the shape. Remove the Wikki Stix when a shape is thoroughly colored in and continue to the next shape.

Goals

Children will practice coloring inside lines. Coloring inside lines requires eye-hand coordination and visual attention. The helper hand is used to stabilize the paper when coloring (bilateral coordination). Moving the crayon while using the little fingers requires fine motor coordination for skillful movements. When placing Wikki Stix on top of the lines, children rely on their fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination.
