Pencil Grasp

Teachers will often refer children to an OT because of their pencil grasp. And they are right to do so! An efficient pencil grasp is extremely important when it comes to handwriting. When teaching pencil grasp to young children, we first need to make sure their little bodies and hands are matured in all kinds of way. When the muscles of the hands are undeveloped, children can develop awkward pencil grasps that can be painful and cause fatiguing quickly.
